Queensland Skilled Migration Program Update

 

  • The Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) is open from 19 April - 25 April.

  • Subclass 190 will re-open in the next financial year once a new nomination allocation has been received by the Department of Home Affairs.

  • Queensland 491-SBO (Small Business Owners) Pathway is OPEN however, the requirements have changed, please check the updated requirement here:

The Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Subclass 491 visa

(starting from 65 points)
This is including the additional 15 points from the Queensland State.

 

The Subclass 491 is open to COVID critical skill/sectors as outlined by the DOHA:

  • Air Ambulance, Critical Medical, Medical Technology.

  • Engineering, Critical Infrastructure, Supply Chain.

  • Telecommunications, Film & Television Production.

  • Maritime Industry, Agricultural Technology, Food Technology,

  • Mining, Emerging Technology, Financial Technology, and

  • Large Scale Manufacturing.

Along with the critical sector, the following occupations are open:

  • Accommodation and Hospitality Managers (ANZCO Code 141999)

  • Cafe and Restaurant Managers (ANZCO Code 141111)

  • Chef (ANZCO Code 351311)

  • Cook (ANZCO Code 351411)

 

Additional Criteria:

  • The applicants must also have been working for a minimum of 3 months in a regional location in Queensland.

  • Have a job offer for additional 12 months from your employer in the nominated occupation.

 

The Skilled Nominated (Permanent) Subclass 190 visa

(starting from 80 points as priority)

This is including the additional 5 points from the Queensland State.

 

The Subclass 190 visa is open to the DOHA’s Priority Skills Migration Occupation List. Applicants with 80 points and above will be considered as a priority, with applicants below 80 points being subject to quota places being available.

 

Please Note: Queensland Masters and Ph.D. graduates also must meet the working criteria in Queensland as detailed above.

 

Additional Criteria

  • You must have been working for 6 months.

  • Have a job offer from your employer in a nominated occupation for additional 12 months.
