Update on Designated Migration Agreement (DAMA) South Australia

South Australian Designated Migration Agreement or usually known as DAMA is a formal agreement between the Australian Government and the South Australian Government Department regarding Adelaide’s high-tech growth industries including defence, space, technology, advanced manufacturing industries and South Australian Regional high growth industries including agribusiness, forestry, health and social services, tourism and hospitality, construction and mining. Several updates have been implemented including:


DAMA Occupation List

South Australia has secured new occupations under DAMAs which focus on:

  • Health care

  • Manufacturing

  • High-tech sectors

  • Agribusiness

  • Food Production

Concessions and PR Pathways

  • Additional English language and age concessions now carry over to permanent visa

  • Easier work experience requirements for international graduates to apply for a job

  • All DAMA occupations now offer PR pathway through Temporary Skill Shortage visa and Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional visa


Skills Assessing Authority

Previously ineligible occupations are now available for skilled migration since the South Australian Government has been approved to do skills assessment for occupations that require it.
