Medical Treatment cost waived for Non-Australian residents in Victoria

Overseas travelers who tested positive for COVID-19; and are not eligible for Medicare or for those who do not have adequate insurance coverage, may be eligible for a waive for their treatment-related to Coronavirus. Victorian hospitals will waive the costs of treatment for Coronavirus.

 

This includes waiving the payment and debt recovery procedures for –

  • Treatment

  • Ambulance transfers

🔸 Additional Working hours for Nursing Students

Nursing students studying relevant medical courses will be exempt from the usual 40-hour per fortnight work limit if they are working in support of coronavirus health efforts and in the direction of the relevant health authority.
