Victoria’s Fifth lockdown as more COVID cases recorded
The entire state will be locked down for 5 days from 11:59pm tonight (15/7) until 11:59pm next Tuesday(20/7).
Premier Daniel Andrews made the announcement late today as a result of the most recent infections of the highly infectious Delta strain.
Until today, Victoria has recorded 18 local cases, including two cases - an adult and a child who sat separately at the MCG during Saturday’s match between Carlton and Geelong .
Jeroen Weimar said masks are very effective in preventing the spread of the virus.
He said that a man spent several hours last week with a porter who was later a confirmed case, and he was wearing a mask and tested to be negative.
