NSW State Sponsor update

NSW announced state sponsor allocation for the 2020-2021 financial year.

Due to the limited number of nomination places, the NSW government has made temporary changes to the application process.

These changes will be reviewed if more places are provided later in the financial year.

  • For Business and investor visas:

The NSW government will nominate potential applicants for this visa only by invitation under the Business Innovation and Investment Program (BIIP) visa (Subclass 188).

  • For Skilled visas:

Invitation rounds for the subclass 190 (Skilled Nominated) visa will commence shortly.

Only applicants who are currently in NSW and have specific occupations in the following industries will be invited.
- ICT

- Engineering

- Health industry

All on-hand applicants for subclass 491 (Skilled Work Regional) visas will get emails about their outcomes shortly.

You can only apply for NSW nomination through invitations.

During an invitation round, EOIs are ranked within an ANZSCO code in order of:

  1. Point score

  2. English proficiency
