Travel Ban: Impact on Temporary Graduate Visa

3 Months Extension to Apply for Temporary Graduate VISA

 

🔹 Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced on Thursday that All non-residents will be denied entry to Australia from Friday (20 March 2020) 9 pm, in a bid to stop the spread of coronavirus. The eligible Fresh Graduates will be given an extended application period where they have not been able to return onshore to lodge their Subclass  485 applications.

🔹 The Migration Regulations allow international students to apply for a Temporary Graduate Visa up to six months after the expiry of their student visa.  This means, students who completed higher education studies in Semester 2 of 2019 will have until September 2020 to apply for a Temporary Graduate Visawhich is a 3 Month extension from that of the last deadline which was supposed to be in June 2020.
