The latest published Tasmania invitation round was held on 1 October 2026.

Migration Tasmania invited:

• 38 Registrations of Interest for the Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190), consisting of 7 Gold Pass and 31 Green Pass invitations.

• 34 Registrations of Interest for the Skilled Work Regional Visa (Subclass 491), consisting of 0 Gold Pass and 34 further invitations.

The lowest Tasmania ROI score invited was 331 points for Subclass 190 and 71 points for Subclass 491.

After the round, Tasmania reported 900 active Subclass 190 ROIs and 591 active Subclass 491 ROIs. There were 979 Subclass 190 nomination places and 704 Subclass 491 nomination places shown as available.

Migration Tasmania also published a lowest point score required to gain nomination at assessment of 457 points for Subclass 190 and 79 points for Subclass 491. This is a rolling three-month average and is different from the lowest score invited in the weekly round.

 

If an invited candidate's claimed priority attributes cannot be verified and their score falls below this threshold, the nomination application will be declined — meeting the lowest invited score alone does not guarantee approval.

A Tasmania ROI invitation is an invitation to lodge a state nomination application. It is not a federal SkillSelect invitation, a nomination approval or a visa grant.

How the Tasmania Invitation Round Works

Tasmania uses invitation rounds to select candidates from the ROI pool. Applicants must first submit a Registration of Interest outlining their eligibility, Tasmania ROI priority score, and pathway suitability.

During each round, the state government reviews submitted ROIs, assesses eligibility requirements, calculates each candidate's Tasmania ROI score, evaluates workforce demand in Tasmania, and selects candidates for nomination invitations. Those receiving invitations may then lodge a state nomination application.

​

Tasmania has not historically followed a single fixed invitation schedule — rounds have been conducted at different intervals in past program years depending on nomination availability and labour market demand. For the 2026–27 program year, Migration Tasmania has run weekly invitation rounds since 20 August 2026. Invitation frequency can still change between program years.

Visas Available Through Tasmania Nomination

Tasmania provides state nomination for two skilled migration visas.

​

Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190)

The Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190) provides permanent residence for skilled migrants nominated by an Australian state.

Tasmania is classified as a regional area, allowing applicants to access the Subclass 491 pathway.

Registration of Interest (ROI)

To be considered for Tasmania nomination, candidates must submit a Registration of Interest (ROI).

The ROI allows the state government to assess applicants based on their profile and suitability for Tasmania’s migration program.

Applicants provide details such as:

• occupation

• visa subclass preference

• employment status

• migration pathway eligibility

• migration points score

ROIs remain valid for a limited period and may need to be resubmitted if they expire before an invitation is issued.

Submitting an ROI does not guarantee an invitation. Tasmania selects candidates who best meet its current priorities.

Pass Levels Used in Tasmania

Migration Tasmania ranks ROI candidates using four pass levels, from highest to lowest invitation priority:

• Gold Pass – candidates who meet the state's top-priority criteria, including the required minimum weekly Tasmanian employment hours. Gold Pass candidates are invited first.

• Green Pass – strong candidates who meet standard priority criteria.

• Orange-Plus Pass – candidates with at least one enhanced priority attribute, invited ahead of standard Orange candidates.

• Orange Pass – eligible candidates who may wait longer for an invitation.

Tasmania Invitation Rounds 2026–27

Tasmania received 2,050 nomination places for the 2026–27 program year, comprising 1,250 places for Subclass 190 and 800 places for Subclass 491. New ROIs opened on 17 August 2026 and weekly invitations commenced on 20 August 2026.

Tasmania also issued 24 Subclass 491 invitations, comprising 0 Gold invitations and 24 further invitations. The lowest invited ROI score was 72.

The published lowest point score required to gain nomination at assessment was 478 for Subclass 190 and 81 for Subclass 491.

17 September 2026

Migration Tasmania issued 37 Subclass 190 invitations, consisting of 7 Gold Pass and 30 Green Pass invitations.

Tasmania also issued 26 Subclass 491 invitations, all reported as further invitations.

After this round, Tasmania reported 1,000 Subclass 190 nomination places and 713 Subclass 491 nomination places available.

10 September 2026

Migration Tasmania issued 40 Subclass 190 invitations, consisting of 6 Gold Pass and 34 Green Pass invitations. The lowest invited ROI score was 502.

​

Tasmania also issued 26 Subclass 491 invitations, comprising 3 Gold invitations and 23 further invitations. The lowest invited ROI score was 74.

​

The published lowest point score required to gain nomination at assessment was 562 for Subclass 190 and 94 for Subclass 491.

3 September 2026

Migration Tasmania issued 34 Subclass 190 invitations. These consisted of 21 Gold Pass and 13 Green Pass invitations. The lowest invited ROI score was 519.

​

For Subclass 491, the official page states that 25 invitations were issued, with a lowest invited ROI score of 82. However, its stated breakdown of three Gold invitations and 23 further invitations adds up to 26.

​

The published assessment thresholds were 547 for Subclass 190 and 90 for Subclass 491.

27 August 2026

Tasmania issued 20 Subclass 190 invitations, consisting of 17 Gold Pass and three Green Pass invitations. The lowest invited ROI score was 544.

​

Tasmania issued 25 Subclass 491 invitations, comprising one Gold invitation and 24 further invitations. The lowest invited ROI score was 91.

​

The published assessment thresholds were 562 for Subclass 190 and 94 for Subclass 491.

​

A preserved copy of the update contains a date-label inconsistency and refers to 20 August. Contemporary records identify these results as the second invitation round on 27 August 2026.

20 August 2026

The opening round of the 2026–27 program issued 67 Subclass 190 invitations, comprising 65 Gold Pass and two Green Pass invitations. The lowest invited ROI score was 580.

​

Tasmania also issued 26 Subclass 491 invitations, comprising three Gold invitations and 23 further invitations. The lowest invited ROI score was 97.

​

This was the first weekly invitation round after the Tasmania Skilled Migration State Nomination Program reopened to new ROIs.

​

Tasmania Invitation Rounds 2025–26

Tasmania received 1,200 Subclass 190 nomination places and 650 Subclass 491 nomination places for 2025–26.

​

Detailed weekly reporting commenced after the full nomination allocation was confirmed in November 2025. The documented rounds below contain 961 Subclass 190 ROI invitations and 708 Subclass 491 ROI invitations.

​

The number of invitations can be higher than the annual nomination allocation because an invitation is only permission to lodge a nomination application. Some invited candidates do not lodge, withdraw their applications or are not approved for nomination.

​

June 2026

On 4 June, Tasmania issued 44 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest ROI score of 500, within the Green Pass level. It also issued 27 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 300, also within the Green Pass level.

​

This was the final published invitation round of the 2025–26 program year.

​

May 2026

On 28 May, Tasmania issued 37 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 314 and 27 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 56.

​

On 21 May, Tasmania issued 30 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 330 and 27 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 56.

​

On 14 May, Tasmania issued 32 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 356 and 24 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 56.

​

On 7 May, Tasmania issued 31 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 330 and 27 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 56.

​

Subclass 190 invitations during May were generally within the Green Pass level. The lowest Subclass 491 invitations were generally reported at the Orange-Plus level.

​

April 2026

On 30 April, Tasmania issued 34 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 352 and 30 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 56.

​

On 23 April, Tasmania issued 17 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 1,000, representing Gold Pass selection. It also issued 25 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 57.

​

On 16 April, Tasmania issued 27 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 1,000 and 27 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 60.

​

On 9 April, Tasmania issued 52 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 251 and 26 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 61 (Orange-Plus).

​

On 2 April, Tasmania issued 25 Gold-only Subclass 190 invitations. It also issued 25 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 108.

​

March 2026

On 26 March, Tasmania issued 19 Gold-only Subclass 190 invitations. It also issued 20 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 502.

​

On 19 March, contemporaneous records show 23 Gold-only Subclass 190 invitations and 18 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 301.

​

On 11 March, Tasmania issued 14 Gold-only Subclass 190 invitations and 19 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 40.

​

On 5 March, Tasmania issued 35 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 49 and 26 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 41.

​

As nomination places became heavily committed, Migration Tasmania announced in March that non-Gold Subclass 190 invitations would be temporarily paused. Subclass 491 selection continued at reduced volumes across other pass levels.

​

February 2026

On 26 February, Tasmania issued 40 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 47 and 24 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 41.

​

The final official update for 12 February records 44 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 47 and 25 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 34.

​

An earlier version of the 12 February figures reported 38 Subclass 190 invitations and 26 Subclass 491 invitations. The later official archived figures are used here.

On 5 February, Tasmania issued 35 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 51 and 26 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 37.

​

No sufficiently reliable round-level publication was located for 19 February. This does not establish that no invitations were issued.

​

January 2026

On 29 January, Tasmania issued 36 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 51 and 26 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 30.

​

On 22 January, Tasmania issued 35 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 54 and 25 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 31.

​

On 15 January, Tasmania issued 47 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 61 and 27 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 37.

​

On 8 January, Tasmania issued 36 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 71 and 26 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 42.

​

All four January minimums were reported within the Orange Pass level.

​

December 2025

On 18 December, Tasmania issued 20 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 61 and 27 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 30.

​

On 11 December, Tasmania issued 15 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 287, within the Green Pass level. It also issued 30 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 35.

​

On 4 December, Tasmania issued 20 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 49 and 33 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 40.

​

Migration Tasmania advised that no invitations would be issued during its Christmas and New Year closure from 24 December 2025 until early January 2026.

​

November 2025

On 20 November, Tasmania issued 73 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 40 and 31 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 50.

​

On 13 November, Tasmania issued 70 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 60 and 30 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 57.

​

On 6 November, the first detailed weekly round issued 70 Subclass 190 invitations at a lowest score of 324, within the Green Pass level. Tasmania also issued 30 Subclass 491 invitations at a lowest score of 83.

​

No sufficiently reliable round-level record was located for 27 November. A missing historical record should not be interpreted as zero invitations.

​

Tasmania Invitation History 2024–25

Tasmania received 2,100 Subclass 190 nomination places and 760 Subclass 491 nomination places for 2024–25.

​

Migration Tasmania published regular information about nominations used, active ROIs, nomination applications under assessment and invitations that had not yet been accepted. However, the official records located for this program year do not provide a complete, dated round-by-round history showing invitations issued and the lowest ROI score for each subclass.

​

For example, an official September 2024 webinar reported 431 active Subclass 190 ROIs and 413 active Subclass 491 ROIs as at 2 September 2024. These are pool figures, not invitation-round results.

​

Historical round totals or cut-off scores should not be estimated by comparing these snapshots because new ROIs, expired registrations, application lodgements, withdrawals and nomination decisions can all change between updates.

​

Tasmania Invitation History 2023–24

Tasmania received 600 nomination places for Subclass 190 and 600 places for Subclass 491 in 2023–24.

​

Official archived updates show that Tasmania was selecting ROIs on an ongoing basis and could issue up to 30 invitations per week. The surviving pages report active ROIs, nominations used and invitations not yet accepted, but they do not identify the number and lowest score for each dated round.

​

The absence of a complete round-level series is a publication limitation. It does not mean Tasmania issued no invitations during 2023–24.

​

Tasmania Invitation History 2022–23

Tasmania used the Registration of Interest system during the 2022–23 program year.

​

An official page dated 28 June 2023 reported that the program allocation had been fully used and identified final figures of 2,150 places for Subclass 190 and 2,100 places for Subclass 491.

​

An earlier official webinar in March 2023 referred to allocations of 2,000 Subclass 190 places and 2,250 Subclass 491 places. The difference may reflect a later redistribution between subclasses, but no explicit explanation was located.

​

The available official sources do not provide a complete dated invitation-round history or lowest ROI scores for this year. For that reason, no round-level figures have been estimated.

​

What the Historical Results Mean for Applicants

Historical invitation scores can help show how competitive Tasmania's ROI pool was at a particular time, but they cannot predict whether an individual ROI will receive an invitation.

​

Selection can change because of:

• the number of Gold and Green Pass ROIs in the pool

• a candidate's Tasmania ROI priority score

• the visa subclass selected

• verified priority attributes

• available nomination places

• applications already in the nomination pipeline

• Tasmania's current workforce and settlement priorities

• changes to program rules between financial years

Applicants should assess their profile against the current program requirements rather than relying only on a previous invitation score.

Tasmania ROI Score Versus SkillSelect Points

The Tasmania ROI score and the federal SkillSelect points score serve different purposes.

​

The Department of Home Affairs points test determines whether a person meets the federal points requirement for a skilled visa. Tasmania's ROI system separately ranks eligible candidates seeking Tasmanian state nomination.

​

A published Tasmania score such as 519, 91 or 56 is therefore not a federal visa points score. It is a score generated through Tasmania's priority attributes and ranking system.
