Subclass 407 Training Visa
Eligible Occupation List
Last Updated: 20 March 2026
Not all occupations are eligible for the Subclass 407 (Training) Visa. To qualify, the training activity must relate to an occupation listed under the Migration (LIN 19/050) Instrument 2019, as amended on 14 December 2024. There are 509 eligible occupations across three lists. See our complete guide to the Subclass 407 Training Visa
The Three Occupation Lists
Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)
Occupations in high-demand sectors including engineering, healthcare, ICT, construction trades, and education. This is the broadest list and covers 216 occupations.
Regional Occupation List (ROL)
Occupations relevant to regional Australia, including agriculture, farming, and select professional roles. Nominees training under this list must be based in a regional area. Covers 77 occupations.
Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL)
A broader range of occupations across hospitality, media, finance, design, and allied health. Covers 216 occupations.
How to Use This List
Search by occupation name or ANZSCO code below. If your occupation appears on any of the three lists, it may be eligible for the Subclass 407 visa — subject to other visa requirements being met.
Important Notes
The occupation list alone does not determine visa eligibility. The tasks performed during training must correspond to the tasks set out in the ANZSCO description for the nominated occupation. Positions for exotic dancers are excluded, even if listed under dancer or choreographer (ANZSCO 211112).
This list is current as of 14 December 2024 (Compilation No. 1, F2025C00058). Occupation lists are subject to change — always confirm with a registered migration agent before applying.
