The Department of Home Affairs has published updated nomination data for the state sponsored visa programs, including the 190 state sponsored visa and the 491 state sponsored regional visa. This update outlines how many nomination applications have been lodged so far in the 2025-26 program year under interim allocations.

190 State Sponsored Visa | 70 | 108 | 80 | <5 | 66 | 85 | <5 | 60 |
491 State Sponsored Regional | 44 | 71 | 65 | <5 | 31 | 66 | <5 | 54 |
Interim Allocations for 190 and 491
For the current program year, states and territories are operating under limited interim nomination allocations. Final allocation numbers have not yet been released by the federal government. The interim allocations allow each state to continue processing and nominating applicants while awaiting the full distribution of places.
Variation in State Nomination Usage
The newly released data indicates that some states have started nominating under both the 190 and 491 visas, while others have not yet drawn on their interim allocations. For example, Victoria and Queensland are currently listed as not utilising their interim allocation, while other states have recorded lodged nominations.
