Victoria’s 2025-26 Skilled Migration Program: Interim Allocation

The state of Victoria is currently offering skilled migration opportunities with an interim allocation for the 2025-26 program:

  • Skilled Nominated Visa (subclass 190): 200 places

  • Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (subclass 491): 180 places

The full allocation for the 2025-26 program will be announced by the Department of Home Affairs in the coming weeks. Once confirmed, the complete details will be made available.

Active ROIs Remain Valid for Consideration

For those who have already submitted a Registration of Interest (ROI), please note that your existing ROI will remain valid for consideration under the 2025-26 program. You do not need to submit a new ROI unless your information has changed.

How New Applicants Can Apply

New applicants who wish to be nominated by the state of Victoria for skilled migration must meet the eligibility requirements and complete the following steps:

  1. Ensure eligibility for the skilled migration program.

  2. Submit a SkillSelect Expression of Interest (EOI).

  3. Submit an ROI.

Skilled Visa Pathways for Victoria

Victoria offers two main visa pathways for skilled workers (state sponsored):

  • Skilled Nominated Visa (subclass 190): A permanent visa that allows skilled workers to live and work anywhere in Victoria.

  • Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (subclass 491): A provisional visa for skilled workers intending to live and work in regional Victoria. This visa provides a pathway to permanent residency through the subclass 191 visa after meeting specific residency and employment requirements.
