What do the last invited EOIs on 14 October 2026 show?
After ranking, Migration WA publishes the last invited EOI. This is not a minimum score. Residence and industry sector are ranked before points, so scores in different rows are not directly comparable. Migration WA also notes that these figures do not take occupation or visa subclass caps into account.

What the occupation-level results show
Trades, Schedule 2: the occupation tables list mostly overseas applicants, mostly at 65 to 75 points. Electrical Linesworker at 115 is the highest. Stonemason is the one trade listed with a Western Australia resident.
Priority occupations in Schedule 1, Schedule 2, Graduate Higher Education and Graduate VET: every occupation listed shows a Western Australia resident, mostly at 85 to 95 points.
Primary School Teacher shows 65 points in Schedule 2 and Graduate VET, and 70 in Graduate Higher Education. Migration WA does not explain the gap, so treat it as that occupation's published figure only.
How the ranking works
Western Australia ranks applicants living in Western Australia first, then applicants living offshore or in another Australian state or territory. Within each group, priority industry sectors come before other sectors, then the highest EOI points, then the oldest EOI submission date.
The full occupation tables are in the official October 2026 trades PDF and in the priority occupations document on the Migration WA invitation rounds page.
What were the last invited points for each occupation in the October 2026 round?
The tables below list the last invited EOI for each occupation in the 14 October 2026 trades round and priority occupations round, copied from the two official Migration WA PDFs. Dates are written day/month/year, as in the PDFs.
These figures describe one person at the end of the ranking. They are not a minimum score, and they do not take into account any occupation or visa subclass caps. Residence, industry sector and EOI date are ranked alongside points, so the same score can be invited in one occupation and not in another.
How to read the tables
Points: the EOI points score of the last EOI invited in that occupation
Residence: where that applicant lived when invited (shown only where it varies)
EOI submitted: the date that EOI was submitted in SkillSelect
A blank table means Migration WA published no last invited EOI for that group

How does Western Australia state nomination work?
Western Australia does not run an open and close period for EOIs, and it does not use a Registration of Interest. This is different from states such as Victoria, which asks applicants to lodge a separate Registration of Interest after their SkillSelect EOI.
Lodge or update your EOI in SkillSelect and select Western Australia. The EOI must show at least 65 points, that you are under 45, a valid skills assessment for your nominated occupation, and an occupation on the WA occupation list for your stream.
Western Australia reviews and ranks the EOIs in SkillSelect.
Invitations are issued in rounds. Migration WA says invitations are anticipated each month, but the number varies and no fixed dates are published.
If invited, you receive an email with a link to the nomination application on the Migration WA Portal. You have 28 calendar days to lodge it and pay the non-refundable $200 application fee.
Migration WA assesses the application. The published processing time for decision-ready applications is 28 working days.
If approved, you are nominated in SkillSelect and invited by the Department of Home Affairs to apply for the visa. You then have 60 days to complete the visa application.
An invitation does not guarantee nomination, and nomination does not guarantee a visa. Source: Migration WA, how to apply
What are the Western Australia streams and how is each one ranked?
Western Australia invites from four lists in each round: General stream Schedule 1, General stream Schedule 2, Graduate stream Higher Education and Graduate stream VET. Every list ranks WA residents first, then applicants offshore or in another state, then priority industry sectors.
Stream | Extra ranking steps after residence and sector |
General, WASMOL Schedule 1 | Highest EOI points, then oldest EOI submission date |
General, WASMOL Schedule 2 | Highest EOI points, then oldest EOI submission date |
Graduate, Higher Education | Qualification completed in WA (PhD or Masters, then Honours or higher, then Bachelor), then highest points, then oldest EOI date |
Graduate, VET | Qualification completed in WA (Advanced Diploma, then Diploma, then Certificate III or IV), then highest points, then oldest EOI date |
The four priority sectors are building and construction, healthcare and social assistance, hospitality and tourism, and education and training. Check the current eligibility rules for each stream on Migration WA before you lodge an EOI.
How much does Western Australia state nomination cost and how long does it take?
The Western Australian application fee is $200 and is non-refundable. After an invitation you have 28 calendar days to submit the application, then Western Australia aims to make a decision within 28 working days of a decision-ready application.
Step | Cost or time limit |
Lodge an application after a WA invitation | 28 calendar days |
Western Australian application fee | $200, non-refundable |
Assessment of a decision-ready application | 28 working days |
Lodge the visa after the Home Affairs invitation | 60 days |
Home Affairs visa application charge | Set by Home Affairs and not included above |

What is the difference between subclass 190 and subclass 491 in Western Australia?
Subclass 190 is a permanent visa. Subclass 491 is a provisional regional visa. In the 14 October 2026 round, Western Australia invited 836 EOIs for the 190 and 391 for the 491.
If your EOI includes both visas, Western Australia generally invites the 491 first, and only one invitation is issued per EOI. If you are invited for both, only one application can proceed. Read the 491 requirements on Migration WA before you choose.
Read more about each visa on its own page: the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) and the Skilled Work Regional visa (subclass 491).
If you do not want state nomination, compare the Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189).
What do the key terms mean?
Expression of Interest (EOI): your profile in SkillSelect, the Department of Home Affairs online system, that tells states and the Australian Government you want to be considered for a skilled visa.
Registration of Interest (ROI): a separate registration that some states ask for on their own portal after the SkillSelect EOI. Western Australia does not use one.
WASMOL: the Western Australian Skilled Migration Occupation List, used for the General stream. It has Schedule 1 and Schedule 2.
Graduate Occupation List (GOL): the occupation list for the Graduate stream, for international students who studied in Western Australia for at least two years.
Last invited EOI: the last EOI that still received an invitation for an occupation in a round, after Migration WA finished ranking.
What do applicants commonly get wrong about Western Australia invitation rounds?
Myth: Western Australia opens and closes for EOIs. Reality: there is no open or close period. You can lodge or update an EOI in SkillSelect at any time.
Myth: you must register with Western Australia after lodging an EOI. Reality: there is no separate registration. You only create a Migration WA Portal profile after you are invited to lodge a nomination application.
Myth: the last invited points are the minimum score. Reality: they are the last EOI invited after ranking. Residence and industry sector rank before points, and the figures do not reflect occupation or visa subclass caps.
Myth: an invitation means nomination or a visa. Reality: Migration WA states that an invitation does not guarantee approval of the nomination application.
Myth: you can accept an invitation for both subclass 190 and 491. Reality: if you are invited for both in different rounds, only one application can proceed.
How does Western Australia differ from Victoria?
Western Australia selects directly from SkillSelect EOIs. Victoria asks for a second step before it invites anyone.
Question | Western Australia | Victoria |
Separate registration after the SkillSelect EOI | No | Yes, a Registration of Interest on the Live in Melbourne portal |
Who selects applicants | WA Migration Services, from SkillSelect EOIs | The Victorian Government, from its ROI pool |
What "open" means | Not used for EOIs | Whether the ROI portal is accepting registrations |
If an invitation is missed | Lodge a new EOI | Submit a new ROI |

Other states run their own process. Compare them on the state and regional sponsor hub.
Frequently asked questions about Western Australia invitation rounds
Is Western Australia state nomination open?
Western Australia does not have an open and close period for EOIs. You can lodge or update your EOI in SkillSelect at any time, and Western Australia selects from that pool in invitation rounds. The most recent invitations were issued on 14 October 2026.
Do I need to submit a Registration of Interest for Western Australia?
No. Western Australia does not use a Registration of Interest. It reviews the EOIs submitted through SkillSelect and invites applicants directly. Victoria and some other states do require a separate ROI, so check each state's process separately.
When is the next Western Australia invitation round?
Migration WA has not published a date. It states that invitations are anticipated each month, and that the number of invitations varies depending on the applications being processed.
Which visa will Western Australia invite me for if my EOI includes both subclass 190 and 491?
If your EOI seeks nomination for both visas, you will generally be invited for subclass 491 first, because your EOI points score is generally higher for that visa. If you are invited for both in different rounds, only one application can proceed.
What happens if my invitation lapses or I decline it?
Western Australia issues one invitation per EOI. If an invitation lapses, is withdrawn or is declined, you must lodge a new EOI to be considered in a future round.
What is the Western Australia invitation round cut-off score?
There is no fixed cut-off score. Western Australia ranks EOIs by residence, industry sector, then points and EOI date. The last invited points per occupation are published each round, but they are not a minimum score and do not take into account occupation or visa subclass caps.
Where can I find the Western Australia invitation round results PDF?
Migration WA publishes the results on its invitation rounds page, with a PDF of last invited EOIs by occupation for each round. For October 2026 there are two PDFs, one for the trades round and one for the priority occupations round. This page copies both into the tables above.
Can offshore applicants get a Western Australia invitation?
Yes. Applicants living offshore or in another state rank second, after WA residents. In the Schedule 2 trades list for 14 October 2026, 20 of the 21 last invited EOIs were from overseas, and the other lived in Western Australia.
Does Western Australia invite graduates?
Yes. The Graduate stream has Higher Education and VET lists. Both appeared in the 14 October 2026 results, and applicants who completed a qualification in Western Australia rank higher within each list.
How often does Western Australia hold invitation rounds?
There is no fixed published calendar. Migration WA anticipates monthly invitations, and no date for the next round had been published after 14 October 2026. Check the Migration WA invitation rounds page for updates.
