State wise Visa allocation and Population Growth

Following are the latest figures of overall state wise year to year population change.

For the year ending 31 March 2021:

  • natural increase was the major contributor to population change in New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania, the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory

  • net interstate migration was the major contributor to population change in Queensland.

  • net overseas migration was the major contributor to change in Victoria.

State wise Visa allocation

Although the overall Visa allocation remains the same compared to that of the last year. Find the State-wise Visa allocations here:

  • South Australia has a promising increase in Visa allocation both for subclass 190 and subclass 491; having more than 500 Occupations in the SA Occupation list.

  • SA also has an incentive for High performing SA Graduates where work experience requirements may be waived if you have a high GPA. Read more: www.racc.net.au/south-australia-state-regional-sponsor

  • ACT (subclass 491) has the highest increase in terms of percentage. Recently Invitations were issued only with 50 points. You do not need to be working in your nominated occupation to apply.

  • Victoria State and Regional Sponsor is opening on the 7th of July 2021 with a promising 40% year to year increase for subclass 190 with relaxed work requirements and specified focus on target sectors. Read more: www.racc.net.au/victoria-state-and-regional-sponsor-update

  • NSW having almost one-third of the total allocation, also announced relaxed requirements with no mandatory work requirement for NSW residents.   • WA Graduate stream remains a very attractive option for people who like to consider studying in the near future. Recently, Invitations were issued with only 70 points (including 15 points from the state), and invitations issued within 2 days of EOI lodgment.
